For Fall/Winter 2017, Zadig & Voltaire’s artistic director, Cecilia Bönström imagined a Parisian girl transported to downtown New York.
The brand’s French origins were reflected in many of the silhouettes, including the super-tight, leather biker pants paired with sweaters with graphic motifs - very ‘fashion-editor-off-duty’. To follow, the mood edged towards urban cool, with oversize logo sweaters and hoodies worn as mini dresses. The vibe: HIGH ENERGY!
On select models, Dick Page drew a block of opaque paint in red, white, or yellow.
“This season’s collection was full of energetic, bright hues. To complement that, I created a makeup look featuring interventions of color — similar to the way you would accessorize clothes — to bring a cohesive believability to the vibrancy of each style,” — Dick Page
The bold eye was created using Inkstroke Eyeliner in Kuromitsu Brown (BR606) (NEW for Fall 2017) which was applied to the top and bottom lash lines using the Inkstroke Eyeliner Brush (NEW for Fall 2017). It was then blended into the lashes. To finish, a highly-pigmented wash of red, yellow or white color was smudged horizontally from the top lash line to above the
crease. Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Mist (WT901) can be used to achieve a look similar to the bold white.
Dick Page filled in the brows using dark brown shades of Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Leather (BR306) and the Eyebrow Styling Compact in the shade best suited for each model, before applying hairspray to a brow brush and brushing up to set.
Rouge Rouge in Rouge Rum Punch (RD504) was applied to the lower lip’s inner center and blended out, resulting in a subtle hint of natural color.
For a light flush, Rouge Rouge in Rouge Rum Punch (RD504) was smudged on the apple of cheeks and blended to a soft pink.
Skin was kept clean, and Synchro Skin Glow Luminizing Fluid Foundation was applied to even out the tone when necessary.
“I’ve created accessories for the face!” — Dick Page
